Privacy Policy

GenieMax is a personal health and recovery app. It stores your health and fitness data locally on your device. The developer does not operate a server that collects your personal health data, and does not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party tracking or analytics.

What data the app handles

• On-device health data — heart rate, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep, workouts, body-composition entries, calories, your profile (age, sex, height, weight), journal entries, and notes. This is kept in the app's protected storage on your iPhone.
• App preferences — settings such as your theme, units, and feature toggles.

Optional features that can send data off the device

These are off by default and only act when you turn them on:

• Encrypted sync. If you enable sync, your data is end-to-end encrypted on your device using a recovery phrase that only you hold. Our backend stores only ciphertext and cannot read your data. If you lose the recovery phrase, the data cannot be recovered.
• AI coach (bring-your-own-key). If you enable the AI coach and provide your own AI provider key, the specific data you choose to share is sent to that provider — only when you make a request — under that provider's terms.
• iCloud export. If you enable iCloud export, a copy of your data is written to your own iCloud Drive (Apple's storage, under your Apple ID) so you can use it on your own computer.
• Apple Health. If you connect Apple Health, data is read or written on-device under the permissions you grant in iOS.
• Food barcode lookup. If you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to the Open Food Facts database to fetch nutrition info. No health data is sent.

Children

GenieMax is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Your controls

You can export or delete your data at any time in Settings → Local data controls, or remove everything by deleting the app. Deleting the app removes the on-device data; if you used encrypted sync, you can also delete the synced copy from within the app.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
